Product Description

Housed in attractive stainless steel, this 900-watt juice extractor features a unique five-speed smart juicing system. Its powerful motor comes with a built-in electronic smart chip that increases power to the cutting disc under heavy loads. As a result, the filter extracts more juice and can make an 8-ounce glass of juice in just five seconds. Speeds range from 6500 rpm for softer fruits and leafy greens like cantaloupe or spinach, to 12500 rpm for maximum extraction from denser foods such as apples or beets. The unit's 3-inch circular feed tube makes it easy to process whole fruits and vegetables, without pre-cutting, slicing, or peeling, plus the feed tube sits uniquely positioned directly over the center of the cutting disc for better balance and consistent results. The juice extractor also provides a stainless-steel micromesh filter and cutters, engineering-grade polymers, a backlit control panel, and dishwasher-safe parts for quick cleanup. Accessories include a 1-li ter juice jug and froth separator, a detachable spout for juicing directly in to a glass, and a cleaning brush. The juice extractor measures 16-4/5 by 15-1/2 by 10-1/4 inches and carries a one-year limited warranty.

5Why buy anyhing else ?
By Ivan Alexei
What can I say, after reading multiple reviews of just about every juicer that Amazon sells; well 275$ was as high as I would go so I stopped looking after I hit that price. Almost every negative review on other manufacturers models always said something to the effect, I should have bought a Breville.

I'm not big on buying refurbished/remanufactured items, but the re-manufactured BJE510XL IKon I could not pass up. I would have spent the money on a new one, but the refurbished priced at 101$ when I bought it was too good to pass up. The unit arrived in like new condition; the bulk of the unit is solid metal and not a scratch on it - in fact anything metal was flawless. The plastic "lid" that seals while juicing has a few minor marks on it, but only if you look at in the right light and at an angle -- my guess, the plastic had one or two runs through a dishwasher.

Besides for the plastic containment dome and pulp receptacle the unit is all metal and solid as a rock. The metal base really makes you think you have something of quality. I didn't know anything, including cars, were made out of metal anymore.

Power is exceedingly more than adequate, a quick read through the instructions is advised. The juicing has expelled pulp that looks and feel completely dry, while on the other side you get plenty of juice, even in what I consider wet fruits or vegetables which usually you get at best 30% juice and the rest is some very wet (and lost) juice in the pulp receptacle. Follow the instructions and you'll get most of the juice out either the wettest or driest of fruits and veggies.

You cannot really find a better deal, IMHO - had Amazon not had refurbished, I would have bought a brand new one - worth every penny. But if you can pick up a refurb (you can always return it), I would give it a try.

Unless Breville loses quality control, they have a permanent customer - although as far as the j uicer is concerned, I doubt that will be replaced soon. But they do make awesome espresso machines also.

Check out the manual, at the end they have some really good recipes, including recipes to use the leftover pulp in cakes, soup among many other things. Trust me, the pulp put in banana or zucchini bread gives you such a moist, yet good for you, you'll never throw out the pulp again. For people with kids, put some of the pulp in cookies -- kids will never know, and probably want more more more.

Just one guys opinion.

5Pleasantly surprised
By J. Matusik
My son requested a juicer for a birthday gift. He did the research and came up with this Breville model. I liked the price but was hesitant to purchase a remanufactured one. After reading other reviews, I decided to go ahead with his choice - good move! Noise seemed to be an issue with other models as well as actual juice extraction. Neither is an issue here! It's quiet and the pulp is relatively dry. You would never know that it was not brand new. Good choice my son, good choice!

4My first juicer.
By Hao Yan
Purchased the factory reconditioned version, it came in what looks like a generic packaging but still with all the accessories and documentation.

I feel the unit has a good construction quality and will last a long time. Not sure if 5 speed is totally necessary since I'm not noticing a big difference in the amount of juice I get when adjusting the speed up or down by a couple settings from the recommendation. A cheaper two speed model would probably do just as good a job. I like the well thought out small features such as the power plug with a hole in the middle for easier handling, and the machine locks its motor when the locking arm is not engaged.

I would have preferred the use of metal instead of plastic for the bottom removable piece that collects the juice. The top piece with the feeding tube being transparent is helpful for checking if the machine is clogged, but using plastic for bottom piece made it hard to clean. Mine has this haze built up and I'm scared of using any abrasive material on it that might scratch it up. Finally it's still not very efficient at juicing some items such as leafy greens like spinach, despite what the ads claim. For these reasons -1 star. Otherwise I'm very happy with this purchase.
